Ekhaya was created to be a home for runners from a range of disciplines, as “ekhaya” is the isiZulu word for “at home”. Our club originated and is registered in central Johannesburg, but we operate largely as a virtual club at present, with members from across the Central Gauteng region and a growing number of members in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg.
Ekhaya aims to provide opportunities for running companionship and a sense of community. We hold transparency as a core value and provide opportunities for member engagement in the day-to-day running of the club, and are guided by our values, mission and vision.
The following are our Values, Mission and Vision:

Our Vision
“Ekhaya A.C. is a fun and happy club that is transparent, inclusive and accepting of runners from all disciplines, ages and cultures.”
Our Mission
“To create a safe and inclusive home for a wide range of runners and support youth development in the sport of running.”
